Part Of The Brookside Story

Jenny Reifeis, Reentry Volunteer

Jenny was looking for a new challenge when she heard about our reentry program one Sunday at Northview Church. She was intrigued and wanted to learn more about how she could get involved. When she reached out, we were struggling to find a way to keep up with the administrative needs in our ministry. Jenny immediately jumped in to support our organization. God’s timing could not have been better.

As time went on, Jenny learned more about the struggles of men and women in reentry, and she developed a deeper desire to invest in the program. She began attending our Bridge Worship Service every Monday and helps run our intake program on Wednesdays. She has not only developed relationships with our team but has also gotten to know individuals in the program. Jenny has sought to love across barriers of status, age, and background. She has built relationships based on an understanding of mutual brokenness, and in doing so, her own heart has changed.

“My experience has helped me become closer to Jesus. My priorities have changed, and God is showing the path he has chosen for me.” she says. For Jenny, this is more than a volunteer opportunity, it’s a relationship. It is when bonds like these are formed that true change takes place. Jenny has become a part of the Brookside story, and we want you to be a part of the story of what God is doing in the Brookside neighborhood.

There are so many ways to be involved at Brookside. We would love to speak to you about how to serve with Reentry, Play, or Housing. We would love for you to become a part of the story that God is writing in our community. Would you consider partnering with us by making a year end donation? Thank you for joining us in loving beyond the barriers in our communities.
