Kerry's Story
A Place to Call Home
I moved to Indianapolis from Bloomington and found myself in a situation I never expected. I spent three months in Marion County Jail, and when I was released, I had no Medicaid and nowhere to go. I was released to the streets.
Turning Point reached out to me, and I took the chance. While I was there, both of my felony cases were thrown out. Miss LanDonia at Turning Point believed Brookside would be a good fit for me — and she was right.
I have never been in a program like this. Everyone here feels like family. This is not a program that holds your hand, but it is one that genuinely invests in you and helps you find your footing. Like anything worth having in life, you have to be willing to put in the work — and when you do, this place meets you there.
This program has been a real blessing. It has given me more than resources — it has given me a community. A family. A home.
